How is SpringBOK  DIFFERENT from other exam prep programs?

Compare us and see. SpringBOK is a different animal. We are simply the most effective path to PMP - period. No other training provider can offer the comprehensive training package we provide for our students at our low price.

We have developed an innovative accelerated learning program, combining online study with face-to-face instruction. Our approach enables students to internalize the necessary Project Management concepts, terms, and processes to excel on the PMP certification exam.

In addition to the PMBOK concepts and standards, in the SpringBOK classes we practice extensively with topics such as Earned Value Analysis, Network Diagramming, Motivation Theory, Professional Responsibility, Contracts Administration and other important Project Management topics that are frequently included in the PMP examination.

We have incorporated proven accelerated learning techniques into our SpringBOK course to allow PMP candidates to master the entire Project Management curriculum in just four days of immersion training. Through memorization drills, hands-on activities, practice tests, and other learning techniques you will be ready and confident of passing the exam.

We apply the best learning techniques, but we also know how to have fun. We limit the class size to under 15 students to allow for more interaction and group activities.  Our instructors find many ways to exercise their *unique* sense of humor.  We arrange the schedule to allow enough time for lunchtime excursions to some of the finest restaurants nearby. This not only serves as a useful stress reliever, but is also a chance to network with fellow project managers while delighting your taste buds.

You take our course and pass the exam or 100% of your course fees back.

We pay for you to retake the PMP exam if you don't pass the first time.

If you desire, you can take the course again --- at no additional cost.

It works! Our students take the actual PMP® exam on the fifth day after four days in our program.  No additional studying is required - either before or after our course.  Read the fine print of other programs; some require that you spend at least 35 hours studying before you come to class, while others recommend you spend at least 40 hours after class.

PMI® requires 35 "Contact Hours" of Project Management training before you can take the PMP® Exam - can I take this course to meet that requirement and then take the exam?

Although the SpringBOK Accelerated PMP course qualifies as 36 project management Contact Hours required by PMI, timing issues prevent it from being used to fulfill the 35 hour pre-exam requirement.  The SpringBOK PMP course is completed after you have already been approved for the PMP exam.

However, our course fee does include a FREE 35 hour online training that will satisfy the Contact Hours requirement for the PMP application.  The Contact Hours training must be completed, your PMP application submitted, and the exam scheduled before attending the SpringBOK 4-day PMP prep course. Contact us for additional information.

Do you have references?

Does this course require any pre-work before the class starts?

No previous PMP study is required. There are two prerequisites to this course:

  1. Have your PMI eligibility letter to sit for the exam. You can apply on PMI’s website: (http://www.pmi.org).

  2. Block your schedule for the week as much as possible to focus completely on PMP preparations for the week.  The fewer distractions you have, the more you will be able to fully immerse yourself into the program, which will result in success in the exam and a more enjoyable learning experience.

It is also helpful to review PMI's Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) prior to taking the SpringBOK course. This and other instructions will be sent to you in an email in the weeks leading up to the course.

Note: When you become a PMI® member you will be sent an electronic copy of the PMBOK® Guide Third Edition.

What do I get when I register for the course?

We guarantee you will pass the PMP® exam after just four days in our program – you take the actual PMP® exam on the fifth day of the program.  This is the fastest way to become a PMP®.

Most other courses recommend up to 180 hours of additional preparation after the instruction. No other program offered at this low price offers a 100% Money Back Guarantee after only one week of intensive preparation.

What is the daily class schedule? (Hours Per Day, etc.)

The course runs Monday through Thursday from 8am to around 5pm, with one to two hour homework assignments each night.

We recommend that you block out your entire week (Monday-Friday) for the course. This will enable you to schedule the actual PMP exam for Friday morning.  You should make every effort to schedule their actual PMP® exam for Friday morning, the day after the SpringBOK course.

Exam scheduling is done through Prometric. Visit the PMI website for additional detail.

Those who register with Prometrics at least six weeks in advance can usually get in on Friday morning following the SpringBOK course.   Most people who register later, can usually take the test on Friday, but may have to take it later in the day.

What are the credentials of the SpringBOK instructors?

All of the SpringBOK instructors are PMP® certified and have completed at least graduate level education. All instructors also have at least 10 years of real world experience in project, program, and/or strategic management. Some are also part-time faculty members of local universities.  You will be delighted with the level of knowledge, experience, and commitment of our instructors.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

If a student needs to cancel 30 days before the course and has not accessed the pre-course material, we will refund their entire course fee.

If the student has accessed the pre-course material, a fee of $250 will be assessed and the remainder of their registration fee will be refunded. All cancellations within 30 days of the class will incur a cancellation fee of $250.

If a student needs to switch class and does so at least 15 days before the start of the course, we let them switch to another available course at a later date (the first switch is free, all subsequent switches incur a change fee of $250) if they can show extenuating circumstances that make it difficult to participate at the time of their originally scheduled course. Class switches within 14 days of the beginning of the course incur a $250 change fee.

The commitment to become a PMP® is a serious endeavor for most people and we have had very few last minute requests for cancellations or class changes.  Having said that we realize that unforeseen situations do arise on occasion and we attempt to be accommodating to our students.

We commit substantial resources in preparing our class for each and every participant, therefore once a student has started their class, we cannot offer a refund.

Can I change the date or location of the course I am registered for?

You can request to change the location/date of your course for which you registered at least two weeks before your scheduled course. If you need to change classes less than two weeks prior to taking your course, there will be a $250 change fee.

The reason for this policy is that many of our classes have waiting lists and those students need some time to prepare to take the class.  We request that you only make one change mostly for your own benefit - so you just do this and get it over with.

Can I change my registration to another student?

Should you require that a change be made in the student that is attending the class, a $350.00 administration fee will be charged to cover the new student's orientation kit and online setup.

Are your fees competitive in the market?

The SpringBOK course is the most cost-effective way to PMP certification--period. Our course fee is a fraction of the cost of other training providers. In addition, the SpringBOK 100% Money Back Guarantee gives you the peace of mind that you are getting the best value for your money.

We encourage you to compare us to other companies to see for yourself. We are confident you will conclude that SpringBOK is the fastest and most cost-effective way to PMP. Our Benefit-to-Cost Ratio is unbeatable!

Can I pay by check...or reserve my seat and pay later?

Your seat in the course is reserved once we receive full payment for the class for which you've registered.   Unfortunately we cannot hold seats for classes without full payment.

We limit our class size to 15 students. As a result many of our classes do fill up rather quickly.  To ensure you have a seat in the class, either pay using a credit card or send your payment ASAP to the address printed on the invoice you receive when you register.

The same course change and refund policies apply as if you paid by credit card.

Can I pay in installments?

Unfortunately, we do not accept installment payments at this time. We are evaluating several financial institutions who may handle the financing aspects of installment payments.  At this time, people who require an installment approach need to charge the course to their credit cards or get financing through their financial institution.

We can process Visa and MasterCard credit cards. We also accept payment using Paypal, personal check or Purchase Orders.  We do all we can to work with project managers and their company's reimbursement policies.

Do I need to be a PMI Member to take the exam?

You do not need to be a PMI member to take the exam, but it makes financial sense to join PMI.  Members receive a discount on the cost of the exam .

The exam fee for members is $405, but increased to $555 for non-members.  After paying $119 for the annual PMI membership you will still save $31 on the cost of the exam.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Our course fee is the lowest
in the industry, so we do not usually offer discounts to our standard courses.

However, we do offer corporate discounts for special classes arranged at or near your place of business. Negotiated discount offers depend on various factors, including location and group size. We generally try to support training requests for groups of 6 or more, depending on instructor availability.

Send an email to sales@springboktraining.com to request additional information on our corporate training programs.

Why it is so important to take and pass this exam? What does the PMP® credential mean in the job market?

For people who hold the PMP® credential, companies are assured that the person who is doing the role of "project manager" has passed a rigorous industry standard test regarding the basic knowledge necessary for the job of project management. Also, only people with the necessary credentials are eligible to take the exam so it ensures that if you hire someone with a PMP®, they are already pre-screened for the experience necessary to be a project manager.

If you're curious, perform a search on one of the internet job boards for "PMP".   You'll be amazed at the demand for PMP-certified project managers.

Is the PMP exam fee included in the SpringBOK course fee?

No. PMI and SpringBOK Training are separate organizations. Updated information on the PMP exam fee can be found at PMI website at www.pmi.org.

How soon will I know if I passed the exam?

You will know if you have passed the exam before you leave the workstation at the test center where you are taking the test. You will be given a report with your score on the exam before you leave the test center. Within one month you should receive the supporting documents from PMI in the mail.

What is needed to maintain the PMP certification?

After you attain your PMP certification you will need to maintain 60 PDU’s (Professional Development Units) over the next 3 years. This includes training, attending PMI chapter meetings and other items that PMI has defined as acceptable for PDU qualification.

One PDU is equal to one hour of training. As you acquire the PDU’s you can submit forms with the information about the PDUs to PMI, or you can wait until the end of the reporting period.

What in the world does the name,"SpringBOK" mean?

A springbok is a small African gazelle, known for its graceful leaping ability and playful disposition.  Springboks are also known for their ability to thrive in an often harsh environment where many predators lurk.

SpringBOK Inc. has characteristics of both the African springbok and the PMBOK Guide.   We are a small, but rapidly growing company. The name, SpringBOK, implies jumping into the Body Of Knowledge for project managers.  It also implies that this dive into the PMBOK can be done gracefully, and even playfully at times.

Why does the SpringBOK PMP Prep course cost so much less than those of other companies?

Our low prices are actually the result of our unique training program and the "buzz" about our company. Our first time pass rate is almost 100%, so it's very rare that we need to fund a student's retest. Plus, most of our students are referred by word-of-mouth, so we purposely avoid placing expensive advertisements in industry magazines, etc. We use the savings to keep course fees low and to hire top-notch instructors.
